Preaching worth keeping

They wrote it down. Today we can record it.

Even in the Old Testament, a preacher's message was written down and kept for the generations to come. Kept & Sent Ministries helps local churches do the same today: record the preaching, keep it safe, and give it a home where the next generation can hear it.

Then and now

Someone has to keep the record

  1. Then

A scribe at the prophet's side

“And Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.”
    Jeremiah 36:4

When the king cut up that roll and burned it, they wrote it all again. We still read Jeremiah's preaching today because it was written down.

  2. Since

    Sermons that outlived the preacher

Every generation has had faithful preachers. We can still read sermons preached hundreds of years ago for one reason: someone took the time to write them down.

  3. Now

    Preached once, then gone

Sunday after Sunday, pastors stand up and preach the Word. Much of it is never recorded, and much of what is recorded ends up lost on a hard drive. We no longer need a scribe. A phone in the pulpit can catch every word. What is missing is a place to keep it.

“This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.”
Psalm 102:18

That is our work: record the preaching, archive it, and give it a home where it can be found and heard for generations.

See how the archive works

A word about where sermons live

YouTube and Facebook are good pulpits, but poor archives

Many churches stream on YouTube or Facebook, and that is a fine way to reach people this Sunday. But those sites were built to sell advertising, not to keep a church's records. They were never meant to hold thirty years of a pastor's preaching.

Keep using them to reach people. Just don't let them hold the only copy.

Our name

Kept and sent.

Two words from Scripture describe the whole of what we do.

Kept
“Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”
Psalm 12:7

God keeps His words. We help churches keep a faithful record of the preaching of them, so a message given once is not lost.

Sent
“And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”
Romans 10:15

The message was never meant to stay in one room. We help it reach listeners wherever they are.

How we work

Commitments we make to every church

Free to every church

No paid tiers and no locked features. The work is carried by the gifts of people who want the preaching kept and sent out.

The church comes first

Your church's name and look lead on everything we host. We stay in the footer.

Your sermons stay yours

Every church can export its full archive at any time. Nothing is held hostage.

Technology that serves the pulpit

We use software to transcribe, index and search what was preached. We do not generate sermons or put words in a preacher's mouth.

Want this for your church?

We are bringing churches on a few at a time. Tell us about yours and we will be in touch.
